Petting Zoo

Students will have a fun opportunity to learn about farm animals when A Zoo to You comes to VDELC. Students will learn about goats, sheep, ducks, chickens, and more when all the animals come to visit in a mobile petting zoo May 5-8, 2015. Keep an eye out for a permission slip coming soon in your child's backpack. Please return the permission slip so your child does not miss out on the fun!

Week Around the World

Dual Language Kindergarten classes spent a week “traveling” around the world. Students had fun listening to stories about other cultures and then did activities and crafts native to each country. In Uganda the read Anansi The Spider and then weaved a spider web.

Dr. Seuss Family Night

Please join us for our Dr. Seuss Family Night on February 26, 2015. Birth to 3 and preschool families will join us from 5:00-5:45 p.m. Kindergarten families will join us from 6:15-7 p.m. Families will participate in activites to promote early literacy and math development. We will also have a Dr. Seuss photo booth! We look forward to seeing you.

New Family App Provides Parents with Easy Access to Information

We are pleased to announce the availability of a new school communications app for smartphone or tablet. The Family App is an extension of the eSchoolPLUS Home Access Center currently available for parents of middle and high school students. The eSchoolPLUS Family App, available to all parents, will provide attendance and fee payment information, as well as the ability to email teachers from a phone. Middle and High School parents will also have access to information about student assignments and course grades. (This feature is currently being developed for use at the elementary level.)
